Recreating March 3, 2011

Have you gone back - way back - and looked at your card making. Me oh my! Let me just tell you, that can be a painful experience. But let me start at the beginning of this little tale.

Today is the day for our Ready Set Go Challenge - Kelly's FABULOUS idea to have a monthly challenge that is more challenging than the norm. She invited Barb and I to join her and we've been doing this for about 3 years now. We take turns choosing the theme. This month it was Kelly's turn... and she gave us a doosy!

Have I mentioned I love a good challenge? I do! So while this one was quite challenging, I loved the process.

Kelly instructed us to do some research. We were to find the third blog post in the third month of the third year we were blogging. (Did I lose you yet?) For me that was March 3, 2011I us. Then we were to do our very best to re-create that card. Ay yi yi! It was one UGLY card.

Did I mention I love a good challenge?

I told you it was ugly!

I used a digi image for that card and I no longer have it... so I searched for a bench stamp in my vast collection. I could not find one, but I did find a bench with a girl sitting on it. That will have to do.

I mostly followed the same overall design (the sketch) but of course I had to change papers and such.

There was also a "twist" to Kelly's theme. She'd asked each of us to share a number with her some time ago. I chose 143 (which is my favorite number). The twist was we had to use the numbers in our number on our card... so I had to use one of something, four of something (or 14 but that would be way too crazy), and also three of something. The twist was pretty easy.

1- Bee
4 - Brads (my original card only had 3)
3 - Flowers (in the image)

Thanks for a GREAT theme, Kelly - I hope I did okay!

Be sure to check out Barb's blog and Kelly's blog to see what they did with this Ready Set Go theme!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Cute card and love the design. How interesting to go back and look at an older card that you created.

Both of your cards are lovely, Jeanette. While some people improve on their skills, I think other times we are just led by the trends and the people we have become. That was a lot of challenges to meet, but you did it. Congrats. Yup, I'm not changing my mind. I like both cards!
