How Charming

It's time for a friendly duel - Dueling Darling style. This group has been going strong for a very long time, posting on the 15th of each month. The longevity of the group is an indication (to me at least) that Kelly had a brilliant idea when she created this group. We are two teams, each with a hostess (this month it's Kelly and me) who come up with one theme. The hostesses send kits to their respective team members - but it's hush hush until reveal day. Sooooo.... today is a pretty exciting day.

Kelly and I came up with the theme...

Bargain Hunters

The idea was to include items in our kits that we obtained as a bargain (clearance sales, Tuesday Morning, second hand, etc.).

Here's what's in the kits that I sent to the Dazzlers...

Image/Sentiment – Sparkle ‘N Sprinkle Happy Flowers (purchased during there Going Out of Business sale at a huge discount) – stamped on Recollections 110# White CS (I always use a coupon for it) with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Designer Paper – from the Recollections Home Basics Paper Pad (purchased during 40% off sale)

Ribbons/Fibers – Amuse (discounted purchase when I was a demo), Baker’s Twine (from Target Dollar Spot), Classic Traditions Satin (purchased in Michael’s clearance), Floral Gardens Grosgrain Ribbon and Offray Crochet Thread (both purchased at Thrift Store)

Embellishments – Dollar Tree Puffy Dots, Grandma’s Buttons (she always cut the buttons off of worn-out clothes before discarding them), Paper Studio Brads (50% off at Hobby Lobby), Paper Studio Heart Charm (75% off at Hobby Lobby), and Sequins from the Thrift Store.

Here's the inside of my card:

Be sure to stop by all the Dueling Darling Blogs - you'll find links to both the Dazzlers and the Divas in my left side bar.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

The only thing I used in addition to what was in the kits was some CS - Recollections Black and White and SU Real Red

Jeanette, You and Kelly are two amazing ladies. So busy with all kinds of church work, family, and yet still take the time to pour yourselves into your crafts and making it fun for others and sharing your ideas and generous spirits all along the way. I love this card and you are always an inspiration to me.
