It’s Friday again…time for another Peek at My Week post…. but
this is also a VERY SPECIAL post, since it’s also the 28th, which means
it’s time for the Calendar Girls to show their monthly projects. You’ll find
mine in this post… after my Peek at My Week observations, so keep scrolling!
A PEEK AT MY WEEK
1.
What was a
highlight of my week?
Oh! OH!!! It’s a SECRET, so I can’t tell yet……… but it’s a
BIGGIE!!! I can hardly wait until I can share this news publicly! And no, it
isn’t DT information. ;)
2.
What lesson/s
did I learn this week?
It’s possible to catch a virus from one’s husband even when
one intentionally stays as far away from him as possible while he’s sick.
3.
What did I
make this week?
If you remember, one of my goals for this week was to go to
card class. Well, I didn’t want to expose my fellow card-makers to this bug I
have so I had to stay home. But to make up for it, I spent most of that day
playing with my own ink and paper. I made 4 unique cards and also prepared a
set of cards for a swap. I didn’t get them assembled but all the pieces were
cut and stamped. I don’t usually get to play that much in one day. It was fun!
4.
What have I
enjoyed doing this week?
I have enjoyed doing some research this week, regarding the
situation in my highlight of my week. I actually spent way too much time at my
computer researching…… but it was amazing the things I learned!
5.
If I could
change one thing about this week, what would it be?
I wouldn’t have caught my husband’s “bug”. Sheesh! Why
couldn’t he have shared the bag of potato chips or something instead of his
germs???
6.
What did I
do for this week’s 30-Minute Challenge?
What
is a 30-Minute Challenge? It will vary from week to week, but basically, I am
going to choose something to do – perhaps it’s an organization task that is
calling out to me, or a topic I want to research, or (*gasp!) an exercise I
want to try, etc. – and I will set the timer and invest 30 minutes in that
challenge.
I emptied out my SCS PM inbox. Oh my! It was nearly full!
7.
What are my
plans for the upcoming weekend?
I am so excited! I am going to a planning meeting for my
upcoming mission trip! I can’t wait to hear more details about what we’ll be
doing!
SCORE TIME: Would I give
this week a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down”?
Thumbs Up (lots of exciting news!)
and Thumbs Down (since I’ve
been sick).
My goals for the
coming week…
1. I
will work on my presentation for Women's Conference I am speaking at in April.
2. I
will help my husband set up his display for the Israel Trip Informational Meeting he's having on Tuesday. He's hosting a trip to Israel in December. Hopefully this meeting will secure a few more people to go on the trip with him. He would like to have a minimum of 20 people.
3. I
will clean my stamp cleaning pads. They are VERY messy! (I used to run them through the dishwasher regularly, but since moving here nearly 3 years ago, alas we have no dishwasher. I miss it for many reasons, one being I have no good way to clean my stamp cleaning pads. LOL!
Now… on to the Calendar Girl information.
Tami is Miss March and she had a fascinating challenge for
us! Here it is, in her own words:
Oh girls, we
are going to create a card this month! I thought of a few things that might
keep us busy for March.
Did you know that March used to be the first month of the year on the Roman
calendar? It was changed to the third month by Julius Caesar. The calendar we
use today is refined from the Julius to the Gregorian. Sadly, we only gained
like the wee bit of a percentage of more time to craft with the change! In
theme of the original first month, let's use one button on your card.
Let's make a card based on a sketch. I saw this sketch and wanted to use it at some point. It's time! Please note, the
sketch challenge is still open, so be sure to join!
Speaking of Romans, purple is the color of the day. Please use the color purple
on your card somewhere. Purple was worn by Roman Emperors and magistrates. It
is also the color worn by those cute little ladies you see out lunching together,
wearing purple and red and a bunch of hats!
Since history was after lunch for me in high school, I really had to put my
'dig deep to remember' thinking cap on for this one! Here are the CliffsNotes:
one button, use the sketch and purple somewhere on your card.
Hope you have fun! I cannot wait to see what you create!
Okay, I
can do that.
One
Button – Check!
Use the
Sketch – Check!
Use the
Color Purple – Check!
Here's the inside of my card:
I sure
hope Tami gives me a passing grade!
Please check out the cards the other Calendar Girls
made, too. You’ll find the links to their blogs in my left side bar.
Thanks for stopping
by my blog today! I’d love to hear what’s been happening in your life this
week, too, so feel free to leave me a comment and tell me about it.
