New Year Sparkle

Can you believe it? This is the last day of 2012.... tomorrow will be a new year. As a way of celebrating, ABC Challenges is all about

NEW YEAR SPARKLE!

Participants are asked to create cards using things that are shiny and sparkly, such as rhinestones, glitter, glitter paper, cording, metallic brads, metallic paper, shiny microbeads, metallic buttons, gold or silver embossing, etc.

I went to my stash of scraps and found an awesome prisma paper scrap, which was the inspiration for my card.

It sure is sparkly paper!

I also added sparkly rhinestones and ribbon with a thread of metallic through it, for more shine! Even though I wanted to keep the coloring to a minimum, so the prisma-paper-pieced heart would show up more, I did manage to color the snowman's nose with a glittery orange gel pen.

Here's the inside of my card:

This card is not suitable for the ABC Challenges, it is also suitable for the Crafters of Faith group that I am proud to be a member of. Every month on the last day of the month we have a challenge. This month's theme is to create a card/project using a snowy-winter theme and "ring in the new year with glitter and bling!" These cards/creations should reflect the beauty of the gift of the season - snow, winter, snowflakes, etc. - and include bling and glitter.

Be sure to check out the other Crafters of Faith blogs to see what they made. You'll find the links in my lefthand sidebar.

Oh, and don't forget to participate in the ABC Challenges this week!

Calendar Girl Winter Wonderland

Please tell me today is the 28th!

Okay, I know it isn't. In fact, it's not even the morning of the 28th... it is mid afternoon. UGH! I'm late.

I have excuses. ;) You don't want to hear them, though. Instead, you want to see my card.

The 28th is the day for the Calendar Girls to post their monthly project. The theme this month was chosen by our own Miss February (Kelly) - and it is a good one. She asked us to create with a Winter Wonderland in mind and to use the colors silver and blue on our creations. We were also instructed to add a snowflake (or snowflakes). FUN!!!

Speaking of snow... we have had two snows this week. The day after Christmas got 10" or more of snow and yesterday brougth an additional snow of about 6". (I keep expecting Kelly to show up on my doorstep, since she often tells me she'll come visit when we have snow.)

Okay, enough chatter... here's my card:

It was so much fun creating this card and I truly am sorry I'm late. Please be sure to check out the other Calendar Girls creations.

But, as I said, I had excuses. I thoroughly enjoyed Christmas, in large part due to the fact that all of my children were home for the holiday!!!

And I simply MUST show you the gift that my dear sweet daughter (my favorite daughter!) made for me...

I used a cute Dustin Pike image for this card - and he's waving to us from the Craft Us Crazy Challenge blog. ;)

I know everyone is busy this time of year, but I still hope you'll participate in the Craft Us Crazy Challenge. It should be pretty easy to do so, since most of us are making gifts and or Christmas or New Year cards right now anyway.

I Have Exciting News!

Not too long ago I learned about a new-to-me Digital Stamp/Image company called MelonHeadz. (Isn't that a cute name?) Nikki is the illustrator and my friend Audry is the Design Team Coordinator. Audrey mentioned on her blog that they were looking for design team members so I asked some questions, and then applied. Woo Hoo! Lookie! Lookie!!!

I'm so excited!!! I'm excited, because yes, I do like to serve on design teams! I'm also excited because I get to work with some adorable images!!! Images like the cute elf girl on today's card....

Isn't she just too cute!?!?!?

I colored her myself, but you might be interested to know that you can purchase MelonHeadz images as black/white drawings or as colored images. Be sure and check them out here!

TAG! You're It!

I don't have a card to show you today; I have a tag.

I had so much fun creating this tag. (It took me out of my comfort zone - which is making cards - and that's not a bad thing.)

I made the tag for TWO challenges.

December 18 - 24

{PIN}Spirational Challenges is sponsored by Dilly Beans this week.

The ADORABLE snowman on my tag is a Dilly Bean image, given to me as a {PIN}Spirational Challenges design team member. THANK YOU, Dilly Beans! Dilly Beans is also giving a prize package to one lucky participant, so be sure to play along and hopefully you'll win.

Here is the photo to {PIN}Spire you:

The tag also is suitable for...

December 18 - 24

Theme: Tags and Smiles
Your creation needs to be a tag or have a tag on it

Twist: What makes you smile
Show us on your creation. It can be a favorite stamp you have and cherish, your collection of embellishments, etc. Don't forget to tell us what it it that makes you smile.

For me, there are several things on this tag that make me smile. I love to use rhinestones, ribbon and buttons - and all three of these are found on my tag. I also love to layer with black as a base ont he layers, which is also found on this tag.

Please be sure to participate in both {PIN}Spirational Challenges and Twisted Tuesday Challenges this week!

Darling SnowFall

Isn't this image adorable?!?!?!?

He's a MYSTERY fellow, though. LOL!

Today is the day that the Dueling Darlings get their duel on. Each team has a hostess - Barb (Divas) and Michelle (Dazzlers) came up with a theme and each of them sent their team members a kit of goodies (designer papers, embellishments, and an image) that fits the theme. Michelle sent us a marvelous kit - yes, I'm a Dazzler. Unfortunately, I can't find the supply list, so I don't know who the manufacturer is.

Worse yet, I don't know what the theme is. Oops! I'm sorry! I guess that means we will all have to check out the other Darling blogs to find out, won't we?

But before we do that, let me show you some pictures of my card.

The inside:

The only thing I used of my own is the cardstock (Recollections Black and Stampin' UP! Cranberry Crisp), some Stickles glitter glue, and my Copics and gel pen for coloring.

Now, let's go see what the other Darlings have made...

Baby It's Cold Outside

The weather has turned much colder in the past couple of days. Time to drag out the warmer clothes. It looks like that's what happened in the {PIN}Spirational Challenges blog, too.

December 11 - 17

Look at this week's photo...

This week's {PIN}Spirational Challenge is sponsored by The Digi Garden

The Digi Garden not only is donating a fabulous prize package for a lucky participant in this week's challenge, they also gave the design team images to use. THANK YOU, Digi Garden!
