Peas in a Pod

NOTE: I have two blog posts today, this one and the Crafty Ho one that follows it.

Today is the first Sunday of the month... that means it's KitCat Sunday! YAY!!!

This KitCat Sunday is quite different than most, though. Normally on KitCat Sunday, the five us have received an identical kit from one who is designated the hostess and we create with those kits which include images, papers, embellishments...and lots of fun!

Well, this month got away from me (I was supposed to be the hostess) so we adjusted. Thank you, Kelly, Lorie, Michelle, and Susan for being so understanding! You're the best!!!
It actually turned out to be a great opportunity to use a very special gift that Kelly gave each of us - an image that she had purchased/commissioned just for our group some time ago. Isn't that the coolest?!?!?

The image was made by Tracy of Sugar Creek Hollow. It's called Peas in a Pod.

The KitCats each provided their own supplies this time - so our papers, embellishments, and such will not match. It's going to be quite interesting to see what each one of us chose to enhance this adorable image.

Here's my card:

The strip of striped paper on this card is actually very special. Not too long ago, I received a handwritten note in a storebought notecard from a dear friend. She, in fact, is a dear friend to all five of the KitCats. The colors matched my other papers... so I decided to use a piece of the notecard on my KitCat card in honor of this special lady. Thank you, Kadie!

I printed the image twice and colored the pod and cut it out so I could layer the image, letting those adorable peas rest down inside the pod.

Be sure and check out the other KitCats' blogs, too...

Thanks!

Jeanette, this is SO adorable! I LOVE the effect of the cut-out pea pod - it looks fantastic! I also love how you used Kadie's notecard paper for your color inspiration! (I received the same and saved it, too; great minds, huh?) The sparkly tendrils and rhinestone accents are such a nice touch! I'm so glad to be one of the KitCat Peas in a Pod with you, my friend! {HUGS}

Oh I love it! I love the layering you used for your peapod. I am just amazed over and over again how the kittens take the same image and make something new and unique to themselves. Loving the bits and baubs too. Awesome card Jeanette!
