Rain Or Shine

It's time for a little duel... the Dueling Darlings post this month's cards today! Kelly (Divas) and I (Dazzlers) were this month's hostesses so we put our heads together and came up with what we think is a fun theme.

Something I Love

The idea behind this theme is Kelly was supposed to make kits that reflected something she loves and I was to make kits reflecting something I love. Then we mailed the kits to our respective team members so they could create with them.

As a little extra fun, we've also asked the Darlings to share with us (in words) something that they love as they post their cards on their blogs and/or in the SCS Gallery. BTW, you can find links to the blogs in my left side bar and I hope you'll head over to see what the Dazzlers and the Divas did with our kits.

The kits I sent to the Dazzlers included the following items:

Image: Whipper Snapper "Rainy Day Renee" stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Co'ordinations 110# White CS

Sentiments: La La Land (Rain or Sine...) and Whipper Snapper (Friends are...) stamped the same as the images

DP: Doodlebug Designs Spring Things April Showers, Springtime April Showers, and Springtime Bright & Sunny

Die Cuts: Gina Marie Stitched Sky (White Clouds and Yo Yo Yellow Sun)

Embellishments: Horizon Cord, SU Grosgrain Ribbon, and Brads, Rhinestones and Sequins from my stash.

Packaging: Reynolds Cut-Rite Sandwich Bag

Their kits actually have three things in them that I love (which seemed appropriate because 3 is my favorite number):

First, I love images with umbrellas included in the design.

Second, I love Whipper Snapper stamps.

Third, I love using found/recycled items on my cards, so I told the Dazzlers they get bonus points if they use the wax paper bags their kits were in as they create their cards.

I did use the wax paper bag when making my card. Can you tell how? (I scrunched it up with lots of wrinkles, then dabbed it in Memento London Fog Ink and dabbed it onto the two clouds, giving them gray highlights).

In addition to the kit items, I used CS (Recollections Black and White and SU Tranquil Tide) to make my card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
