I {Heart} This Very Special Project

It's February 28th... which is a special day. Yes, it IS the last day of February, but that isn't what makes it special. It is special because the 28th of every month is the day the Challenge Your Stash Project is due.

I love the CYS group... we have to create with what we have. We can't buy anything. Of course, I do that often, but with CYS, there is a theme, too. One of the members chooses the theme each month. This month it's Tracie's turn.

Tracie's theme is.... "there has to be a heart someplace on your card."

Now... time for confession. EEK! I remembered there had to be a heart somewhere... but I didn't remember it specifically said a CARD. A card? Sheesh! Of course it said card, after all the CYS gals are cardmakers.  BUT... that part completely slipped my mind and I didn't make a card. Instead, I made four name tags. They are large - 6" x 6" - so they could be cards. Well, except for the fact that they have names on them.

Okay, let me explain these name tags. A friend (who is the volunteer preschool worker in our church) asked me to make four name tags for baskets where they put items of the babies/toddlers who come to their nursery. She didn't give me a lot of directions... just gave me the measurements of the baskets and the names of the children. Well, being a cardmaker, I teated them like cards and designed them with stamped images. I generated the names on the computer. I have letter stamps but I thought the computer was an easier option, plus they would be neat/uniform.

For embellishments I used Brads and Washi Tape. After all, this is for a preschool so I didn't want anything that could potentially fall off of the name tags and land on the floor where some little darling might pick it up and put it in his/her mouth.

I think these will serve my friend's purpose. AND... they have lots and lots of hearts on them so they also fit the purpose of "there has to be a heart someplace".... well, all except they aren't cards.

Please forgive me Tracie! I didn't mean to change you theme. It just sort of happened.
