Mid-Week Joy Report

I'm actually on the road - meetings, meetings, meetings. All good things. I'll have to fill you in next week. For this week's Mid-Week Joy Report, all I can say is it's an easy week to be filled with JOY.

And for those who like to track it, I only made 4 cards this week, because I've spent most of the week many MANY miles away from my toys.

In last week's Mid-Week Joy Report, I introduced a personal challenge I've set for myself this year - the "50 Truths Worth Knowing" Challenge. If you missed it, you can see that post HERE.

Chapter 2 of the book is entitled The Best Way to Cross the Finish Line Is One Step at a Time. Christine had thought for years - YEARS - that she would run a marathon. But college, grad school, and children got in the way. As she neared her 40th birthday, she received an email from a "fit" friend, and decided the time was right.

She went into training, encouraged by her friend. Finally marathon day arrived... but she forgot to plan for something significant to her success. She forgot to plan for a decent breakfast. Five miles into her marathon, that caught up with her. She fought fatigue, wind, and an increasing self-doubt, but she persevered. She finished in just under four hours, reaching two of her goals (one, to finish; two, to finish in the 4-hour range)... but according to her words she was "completely depleted."

The image I chose to use to reflect this story is the QKR Worldly Turtle. The look on his face reflects the enormity of what he's trying to accomplish. I paired it with the Stampabilities sentiment because Christine needed to remember that she could do it - and she did!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
