Thematically Thursday - Something New

This is the second Thursday of March, which means it's time for me to try something new. Coincidentally, Paula, one of the ladies doing the 100 Cards in 100 Days Challenge, challenged us to do two things:

I decided to issue a couple of challenges to you and maybe that can motivate all of us!

1. Make a paper bag card this week and post it here. Those of you behind may find this challenge helpful. I have been wanting to do these and haven't gotten arround to it yet. I have lots of paper bags that need used up too.

2. Organize and clean at least one area of your craft space. Snap a pic and post it so we can all drool together!

I decided to take her up on her challenges, and since I've never made a paper bag card before, it's thematically correct to do so today. (Just for the record, I have made a paper bag album before.)

I started with a small white lunch sack (approximately 4 3/4" X 8 1/2").

I folded the bag in half and the front of the card includes the bottom of the bag, which gives it a nice little flap. I put the layered map paper on the bottom and the layered building paper slipped down under it, forming a pocket. That wonderful metal globe is actually a brad - it holds everything together.

This is the inside of the card:

The plane is another brad. Isn't that fun?

This is the back of the card:

If you look closely on the left side, you see the opening of the bag. I didn't put anything inside, but I think it has a lot of potential... gift cards, notes, etc..

This was soooooooo much fun to make!

It is my 79th card in the 100 Cards in 100 Days Challenge.

Now, if you'd like to see what I did for Paula's other challenge, I organized my Washi tape in a different way.

I had my Washi Tape on a tension rod that fit snuggly between the sides of one of my shelves.

It looked nice and didn't take up much space, but it wasn't very functional. It was difficult to use Washi tape since it was a challenge to get it off the roll without pulling the tension rod down. So, while I was shopping at Big Lots, I found some little bins for $1.50 and thought they would be much more practical to use.

Yes, much better!

THANK YOU for two great challenges, Paula! I enjoyed both of them!

Sentiment: Penny Black Good Wishes

Well done Jeanette - on both challenges - love the card - the way you included and extra pocket on the front is fabulous.
The washi tape organisation is a great way to go - functional and tidy.

Your card is really cool! I have never seen a card made from a paper bag before. Great job with organizing the washi tape! I will have to look for those holders!

Love the way your card turned out! Of I saw this paper in the store I doubt that I would buy it but seeing what you did with it and those brads....I would definitely buy the paper after seeing this! I'm glad to see that so many people enjoyed the challenges. We might have to start a bag lady club! LOL!
