Hot Mess - Take 46

Yesterday was the 12th of May, which should have been the day I shared this month's Hot Mess Success card, but since the 12th fell on a Friday, which is my day to post as a Blue Knight Rubber Stamps design team member, I decided to wait until today to get messy. (insert deer-in-the-headlight look) As you likely recall from previous 12ths, I am not one who likes messes. Not one bit. BUT a challenge is only a challenge if it stretches you, and I'm up for the Hot Mess Success Challenge.

Barb, Carol, Darlene, Terry, and I create cards for the Hot Mess Success challenge each month and share them on the 12th.

It's Anything Goes - as long as there is something messy involved.

This month's mess started with some acrylic paint and dull gloss paper. I first put a very thin layer of silver paint onto the paper, using a baby wipe for added moister. Then I put a dab of the darkest paint onto a piece of plastic and smeared it around. I turned the paper upside down onto it and transferred paint onto it. Once it had dried I decided to water down the lighter color of paint, so I blended water into paint on another piece of plastic and then transferred it to the paper the same way.

As you can see in this picture, I did that on two pieces of paper, without reloading the paint onto the plastic. The paper in the lower right corner only has the lighter watered-down paint on it.

I used the top piece to die-cut my word and the left piece for my card base. I saved the last piece for another day.

Be sure to check out the other Hot Mess gals blogs, too, to see their cards (you'll be WOW'd!)...
