BK - Chickadee In the Woods

FYI - This is my second blog post of the day. I hope you'll also check out my Three Musketeers post that immediately follows this one. Thanks!

Fridays are special days - who doesn't love TGIF, right? But here on my blog Fridays are also special because they are the day I get to post as a design team member for Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.

For today's card I used the Chickadee in the Woods stamp today.

You can check out the stamp set in the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps store - HERE. I used a sentiment from their Silhouette Corner Foliage stamp set.

The design team was tasked with creating winter cards this month, but if you've looked at the Chickadee in the Woods stamp, you'll notice it's designed more for spring/summer. Not a problem. Right?

Have you seen this stuff at your local Dollar Tree Store?

It's a roll of mesh with flecks of snow in it. Hmmm... I think it will work on a card, thanks to some spray adhesive.

First I colored the image with Copic Markers - in shades of winter. Then I adhered the snowy mesh on top.

Of course the tufts of grass were a problem when using the entire image, so my plan was to diecut a circle out of the mesh-covered image. The die cut through the cardstock and mesh without any problem.

So my advice... go to the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps store and buy this fun stamp set; then head to Dollar Tree to buy some snow mesh.

Fabulous card. I think that stamp is great for your Winter themed card. I seldom get to a Dollar Store, but that snowy mesh does look intriguing. Great design.

Loving that snow mesh Jeanette - and how you have used it on this beautiful card - great work to cut the circle out to overcome the spring grass in the image. The wee chickadee on the branch, in the winter colours certainly sings of winter!
Needless to say we don't have that snow mesh here :)
