From a Kit Series - Take 11

I started a new series on my blog in July of 2021. The idea was born from the fact that I have a lot of unused card/stamping kits just waiting to have some attention. Sheesh! Seems as though I buy them and they just sit. That just shouldn't be so I'm going to commit to using a kit once a month for this "From a Kit" series.

This month I used Unity's Whit Kit from March 2021.

I am a huge Unity fan - seriously! HUGE!!! But for some reason I couldn't seem to wrap my head around this kit. I couldn't seem to make a connection between the gorgeous stamp set and those Nuvo Shimmer Powders (which I also love) and the subtle paper pack that was in the kit. In my head, they just seemed like a hodgepodge of mixed products.

I really should do some searching online to see what others did with the kit because I'm sure the products go together; I just couldn't figure out how.

Soooo... I'm not liking my card at all.

BUT - I do like the products and am keeping all of them to use in the future, just not together.

For the background piece, I sprayed some water onto the watercolor paper then added the Nuvo Shimmer Powders and finally another spritz of water.

While that was drying I mixed some of the Atlantic Burst Shimmer Powder with water and used a paint brush to brush it onto one of the designer papers in the kit.

After both pieces were dry, I used some dies to cut everything out and then I quickly put the card together.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

In addition to the Unity Whit Kit, I used CS for the card base (SU Taken with Teal), some dies (Rubbernecker Rectangle with Pierce) and a brad from SU.

Not your usual Jeanette, but it doesn't hurt us to extend ourselves out of our comfort zones, as this obviously has extended you. Well done on using the products together as intended
