Inspired by a Simple Holly Brooch

I love the daily challenges on SCS and since I had a "free" day here on my blog today, I decided to check them out and see what I could come up with. I was drawn to one that I rarely (okay, practically never) join - the Inspiration Challenge. I don't know why, but I always feel a bet stressed just trying to look at the inspiration board and coming up with a card that is inspired by something I find there. Then I fret if my card really "fits". Is it just me?

That being said, I gave it a try.

This week's Inspiration Challenge (#IC841) is The Virginia Living Store. Snacks. Jewelry. Chocolates. Meats. Okay, I'm already overwhelmed.

Then I spy with my little eye - a simple piece of jewelry - the Holly Brooch. I loved the simplicity of its design and the colors. I was especially drawn to the colors of the leaves, not a true green, but more subtle and muted.

My card (though not holly) tried to capture the colors of the Holly Brooch. I also kept my card design simple.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

So that's how you spell Brooch. Every time I use to write it out it looked weird (there's that word again lol) to me, but I guess with spell check there's no denying. This is a beautiful card. I absolutely love it.
