I Found a Treasure

Kelly, Barb, and I have been embracing the Three Musketeers challenges since November 2014 and don't anticipate stopping any time soon. As Three Musketeers, we create and share one card each month - on the 9th of the month - using the same image. It's fun. It's creative. It's an adventure. I am always in awe of my two comrades - Kelly and Barb. They inspire me with their talent and I treasure their friendship. The three of us take turns choosing the image we'll use. This month it was Kelly's turn to choose and she decided to send us on a treasure hunt. Okay, not really, but she did send us a treasure hunt map. This stamp is soooo much fun! It's the Treasure Map Background from Taylored Expressions. Thanks for giving us such a delightful adventure this month, Kelly!I was a bit intimidated about coloring the image, but once I got started, I decided it was a lot of fun. I didn't worry about realistic. I just had fun and went with the flow.

After die-cutting the map out, I blended Antique Linen Ranger Distress Ink around the edges to give it a more weathered/aged look. I did the same thing with the sentiment piece.
The sentiment is from the Frantic Stamper You're a Treasure stamp set. I actually think I did a no-no by using it. I didn't notice until I wrote up this blog post that Kelly specifically asked us not to use any other stamp on our cards. Oops! I thought she'd said no other image. I apologize, Kelly. Obviously speed reading doesn't work well for me.

You can see (a peek) that I used the same die and aging on the inside of my card.

Be sure to check out Kelly's and Barb's cards on their blogs, too.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Awesome Card. Great colors and I love the die you used to cut our the image. The sentiment is perfect--even if you did not follow directions................... Just kidding!

Such a fun card! So neat that you three create together each month. Love all three cards or four.

Gorgeous card Jeanette - and whether the sentiment was 'legal' or not, it certainly fits the card beautifully
Stay safe
