One Plus Twelve 2020 - Miss January

One year ago today was an exciting day. Kelly (of the 3 Musketeers and Ready Set Go) came up with a GREAT idea and asked Barb and I to join her in a new series she called One Plus Twelve. We each chose ONE stamp - only one, not a whole set) - and committed to using that stamp on a card we'd post on the 3rd of each month of the year. We could also use a sentiment on any of our cards if we wanted to, but we couldn't use any other stamped images.

Kelly chose an adorable fox, Barb chose one of the stamps from Stampin' UP!'s Lovely as a Tree and I chose an artsy looking stamp from Unity called Be the Best.

If you want to see my post from January 3, 2019 you can do so by going - HERE.

This One Plus Twelve series was a lot of fun - so much so that we've decided to do it again this year. Same series; new stamps.

I again turned to my vast collection of Unity stamps and decided this year I'd go with something totally different in style to last year. I chose Aleah Girl

I will admit, after making this card (a few days ago) I seriously considered changing to a different stamp. Not that I don't like Aleah Girl - she's gorgeous! It's just she's a bit tall nearly filling an A2 card from top to bottom which I think might make it challenging to do different things with her for a year-long series. But in the end, I stayed with my choice... so right or wrong, here's my first One Plus Twelve card with Aleah Girl.

I suspect one of the things I'll do with her during this series is give her wardrobe changes - keep a watch on her top especially during the months ahead. This month I did some paper piecing to give her the pretty lavender top she's wearing.

Now be sure to head over to Kelly's blog and Barb's blog to see what stamp they chose and what they did with it this month. I can hardly wait to see - we've not shared with each other what stamp we chose.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Why have I never paper pieced this image!! It looks awesome, Jeanette!! I think I may pull this out and make a dozen today alone!! As to coloring, I am now using my reinkers to watercolor with brushes!

Beautiful card! I love your stamp choice and her top matching the papers. One day I'm going to get some Unity Stamps. I love the faceless girls, but never seem to want to spend the $$ on them. They are all fabulous stamps though. Hugs!

As I said on FB this is a fabulous card. Love how you paper pieced the shirt to match your background.

Oh she's absolutely perfect and I am glad you chose not to change her! I own her, too, and can't imagine 12 different ways to make a card so I'm curious as to your next 11, which I know will be smashing! Super color and awesome job on card one! Thank you for your sweet words about my get-on-board-kelly's-crazy-idea challenge!
