Let's Get Messy - Take 5

Today is the 12th, which means it's the day for Hot Mess Success. What is that? Each month Kelly, Barb, Terry and I get messy while making a card. This month we were encouraged (by Kelly) to use silver or gold or sparkle on our cards in the spirit of the holidays.

For my messy element I used a piece of aquarium "stuff" that I bought years YEARS ago to add fun texture to cards. I had fun with it then but stopped using it because... well, because it was messy.

Fast forward to the Hot Messes. Yep, it's perfect.

I dabbed it onto an Encore Silver ink pad and then onto white cardstock. Then I did the same (using a different side of the texture piece) onto an Encore Gold ink pad.

In my mind, the card says Beautiful U... but let's just say this is one of those cards that looked better in my head. BUT... it was messy. ;)

Now be sure to head over to the other Hot Messes' blogs to see their messiness, too...

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Die: MFT Beautiful

Papers: Recollections Black and 110# White and SU Metallic Gold CS

I think your card is beautiful! I love how creative you are when it comes to using household products! I love the die that you used too and it is a very pretty card. Thanks for playing along with this challenge!

Wow Jeanette this is stunning - love the texture you obtained and what a novel way to use your "aquarium stuff" :)

golden brilliance! This is quite a striking card - a bold and wonderful visual with the big statement. I love that you only did one letter with the gold - creative touch! I'm behind but will get to blog posts soon - yours is brimming!
