Good Ol' Webster

It's the third Wednesday of September, which means it's the day that Kelly, Barb, and I share our Ready, Set, Go creations. Not sure what that is? Well, it's a lot of fun! And a bit of creativity. And an extreme challenge theme.

Ready, Set, Go is an idea that Kelly came up with over two years ago and she invited Barb and I to join her on the adventure. We take turns choosing the theme, but the idea is for it to be a bit more challenging than just the average theme. Ready? Set? Go!

This month it was my turn to choose the theme. This is what I came up with...

Our posting day is October 16th, so I did a little searching to see if there were any obscure holidays for that day. I found one that tweaked my interest.

Every year on October 16, the United States celebrates National Dictionary Day in honor of Noah Webster, the Father of the American Dictionary, who was born on this day in 1758. The objective of this day is to emphasize the importance of dictionary skills and to seek to improve vocabulary. Webster began to write his dictionary at the age of 43 and it took him 27 years to finish it.

So here's the challenge... when creating your card, you must include three things that start with any three consecutive letters of the alphabet. For instance, (BCD - the color Brown, Coffee, and a dog... or RST - Ribbon, Sequins, and a Truck... you get the idea).

Ready, Set, Go!

Not that this has anything to do with our instructions; just some interesting information...  the word pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis is the longest word in the Merriam-Webster dictionary? At 45 letters, the word refers to a lung disease.

Who knew, right?

I chose the letters F - G - H

F - Flower
G - Giggle
H - Hoola Hoop

Be sure to check out Barb's blog and Kelly's blog to see what they did with this Ready Set Go theme!

Such a cute card! Love the letters you chose as a springboard and perfectly balanced with the card design and awesome coloring (as per usual!) Fun image! Super cute theme this round - I know I'll be using it again!

Oh my word, seeing her giggle makes me laugh. I remember the hoola hoop - not that I could keep it going nowadays. I think your card is cute and beautifully colored.

What a sweetie this card is Jeanette - and a great selection of letters. I did pic from the first syllable of the word that it pertained to the lungs :)
