Joy Report and 50 Truths Challenge

It has been a good week... no! It has been a FANTASTIC week!

First, I finished my writing assignment! YAY!

Second, I started decorating our home for Christmas - and it's looking GREAT!

Third, I won a FABULOUS prize in SCS's Falliday Fest - from My Favorite Things. WOO HOO!

Oh, and in case you're counting, I made 21 cards this week. WOW!

I am just a little bit bummed, though. This is the first week of December and the 48th week of the year, which means I only have two more chapters (after today) in the little book 50 Truths Worth Knowing. If you've been following my blog (or visiting often) you know that every week this year I've read a chapter and created a card that is inspired by that chapter. I have had SO MUCH FUN doing this and I'm kind of sad to think that I'm almost finished. But not to despair, I've already come up with a personal year-long (well, nearly year-long) challenge for 2018. YAY! But I won't be revealing what that is until... well... until next year.

Chapter 48
You Can Live Richly,
and Money Has Nothing to Do With It

Rachel was living abroad (in the south of France) where she was studying art at the University. It was mid-terms and the professor had given the students tie away from class, to study. Rachel seized the opportunity and went in search of art-worthy scenes to recreate in her sketch book.

She found a wrought iron gate with an entrance through a cement wall. She'd seen it before but never stopped to explore. This time she stepped through the gate and descended to a lovely courtyard. Rachel took out her sketch book and supplies and got to work. She sketched a child who was racing giddily around the fountain and the child who was dangling a hand into the water. Other sketches including the couple picnicking in the sunshine, the birds that flew around, and so much more. Of the experience, Rachel wrote, "I remember looking up and feeling my good fortune and taking note. I wasn't in it for ht grades. I didn't need to be anywhere. I didn't want for anything. I was just living - calmly, graciously."

And those memories (and that sketchbook) were the memories she took home with her when her time in France concluded.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

What a fun challenge, Jeanette! Since I ma new to your blog I may have to go back and check out some of the other chapters. And of course I'll await the next challenge for 2018! Fun card. I love the little character.
