"Owl" Be Thinking of You

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards Swap group has been together for YEARS! Kadie is the leader of this group, which usually means she keeps us organized. We swap every other month and take turns being the hostess. Kadie was the hostess during the most recent round.

This was Kadie's theme:

I was thinking about a theme for my round and I couldn't get owls out of my head. But then it occurred to me that not everyone may have an owl stamp or image, so I've decided to go with a general bird theme. So the theme this month is called FOR THE BIRDS! All you have to do it use a bird somewhere on your card. It can be for any occassion. Please use at least 2 layers and 1 embellishment. Other than that, it's up to you! Thanks so much and have fun!! Big Hugs, Kadie

Of course I had to use an owl image...

This is actually a stamp that I ordered online, and I had NO IDEA it would be as large as it is. It fills up much of the front of my card. And I thought it was too large to really want to color it, so I used the paper-piecing technique instead. Oh, and I added rhinestones for the center of the eyes.

This is the inside of my card:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Fabulous card Jeanette - and I love the way you used paper piecing to 'colour' the owl.

So cute. I love the papers you used for your owl. Different, but so pretty. What a fun challenge.
