A Special Day

Today is a very special day! It's time for the first ever blog hop of the brand new Carriers of Faith group. Kelly, who is the one who organized this group, is the hostess this month, which means she gets to choose the theme.

Carriers of Faith is a bit different than the other groups I'm part of. It's not a "card-making" type of group. It is faith-based and once a month (on the 9th of every month) the challenge involves both a scripture verse and taking a picture of something based on the verse/theme and sharing it here on our blogs.

If you arrived here from Zella's blog, then you're where you should be. ;) However, if you came here just because you love me (and I'm glad you do!!!) let me encourage you to hop along with us by starting at Kelly's blog. I'm sure you will find the posts very uplifting.

Kelly's Challenge
January Scripture: "Be still and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)
January  Photo Inspiration: Spending time in stillness, in prayer.

First, let me say, I love that verse. It is truly one of my favorites because it reminds me that in the busy-ness of my life I simply MUST slow down and take time to spend with the Lord, listening to Him. When I spend time in prayer, it shouldn't be so much about the talking (I do love to talk!). After all, He knows what's on my heart. It should be about the listening to His still, small voice. That's a lesson I have to keep reviewing.

This is a picture of my open Bible and a Bible study guide at my kitchen table. I meet with the Lord here regularly. I plan to spend a while, so I also enjoy a cup of something warm to drink while I commune with my Lord. (Yes, that IS my favorite mug.)

God gently called my name and said:
"Be still and know that I am God."
May I never tire of hearing His still, small voice!

I am involved in the 100 Cards in 100 Days Challenge right now, so I also have a card to show you. I know that's not what a Carriers of Faith aspect, but I chose to make a card that kind of coordinates with the theme of this blog hop.

Here's the inside of my card:

One more thing before you continue on the hop...
I actually almost chose this photo instead:

I spend quite a bit of time on the road, driving all alone and I find that it's a perfect time to spend praying (with my eyes open, of course!)

Now, be sure to head on to Carol's blog to see what she posted about the Carriers of Faith!

Here's the entire list of the blog hop in case you get lost:

Thanks for your words - and your photo. I love driving on my own and singing and praying, not that I get to do it much.
Blessings
