Lots of Fun

Are you ready for some challenges? I hope so, because I have two challenges to tell you about today, plus a VERY SPECIAL blogging friend to tell you about.

August 5 - 11

Theme: Monochromatic
(I chose to use Stampin' UP! Blue Bayou for my color)

Here's the inside of my card:

Monochromatic cards are such fun to make. I hope you'll choose a color and make a card for the ABC Challenges Monochromatic Challenge this week!

August 5 - 18

Theme: Flowers

My designer paper is covered in flowers, as is the skirt of the MelonHeadz image I used. I also added a gorgeous flower embellishment...

I hope you'll participate in the MelonHeadz Friends Flower Challenge this week!

Now before I show you more pictures of my MelonHeadz card, I need to tell you something special about it.

I am part of the Crafty Gals blog group. On the 5th of each month, we are to post a project we've made that is inspired/CASED from one of our group members. Melina, our leader, chooses the member. This month she chose Sassy. Truthfully, I thought I was going to have to resign from the group. I reconsidered and decided they would surely allow me to stay even though I feel so inadequate in my feeble attempt to CASE Sassy. Oh my goodness! If you've never been to Sassy's blog, you really should go there. She is an EXPERT at altered art, creative techniques, things other than cards, etc. I just drool when I check out her projects.

Here are a few links to let you see some of her amazing creativity:

Handmade Flowers (and so much more!!!)

Oh, and you need to see her adorable puppy Gracie!

I tell you, I couldn't find anything on Sassy's blog that I thought I could recreate and do justice to it.

One thing I noticed was that Sassy often times creates and/or alters tags... so I got to thinking. I can try to do that. This is the tag on Sassy's blog that I tried to CASE.

This is what I came up with:

Now, I'm a card-making kind of gal, so I put my tag on a card, but it IS a tag. LOL!

My inspiration from Sassy included starting with a plain/simple manilla tag and altering it. She used a wonderful technique that including spritzing, etc.; I sponged on Real Red ink. (I told you I was pathetic.) She used an image of a snail; I used a teacher. (Hmmmm... no comparison, I know.) She added two little tags in the upper left corner of her tag; I added three.

Now you understand why I thought I might have to resign from the Crafty Gals, don't you? I just hope they don't kick me out.

Here's the inside of my card:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Please check out the other Crafty Gal blogs to see what they did to CASE Sassy. You'll find the links to their blogs in my left side bar.

And don't forget to participate in the ABC Challenges Monochromatic Challenge and the MelonHeadz Friends Flowers Challenge.

Lovely cards once again Jeanette - and so beautifully 'you' - you don't have to be somebody else, you are unique and your cards reflect that!
