A Spellbinders Christmas

I am honored - beyond measure - to be guest designing for Spellbinders again. I am so impressed with the variety of products I've received to use this month - dies, stamp sets, a stencil, wax seal stamps, and embossing folders.

Today I have seven Christmas/Winter themed cards to share.

Spellbinders Pocket and Embossing

I am honored - beyond measure - to be guest designing for Spellbinders again. I am so impressed with the variety of products I've received to use this month - dies, stamp sets, a stencil, wax seal stamps, and embossing folders.

I have two cards to share with you today.

I used the Essential Envelope die set to make the first card.  It comes with the die to make the envelope as well as several additional items to use decorating the envelope. You'll find it in the Spellbinders store --> HERE. The envelope kind of reminds me of those pockets that library cards were placed in. Remember those?

I made a simple rectangle to place inside the "pocket" using the Spellbinders Precision Layering A2 die sets. I use these dies often.

I used the Oak Forest 3D Embossing folder on my second card. You'll find it in the Spellbinders store --> HERE. After embossing a piece of white cardstock I turned it over and blended three shades of ink randomly. This is on the side that is typically not used. Once I had the ink blending to my satisfaction, I used a brayer to add the brown ink onto the resist area of the embossed piece.

I used the Spellbinders Essential Tags die set to create the sentiment feature.

These cards were such fun to make. I hope you've enjoyed seeing them.

ONcE More in '24 - October

The 3rd of each month is a special day here on my blog - it's the day that Kelly (the founder of this series), Barb, and I share our One Plus Twelve cards. The idea is to use the same ONE stamp (not a set) each month to create a card. Sentiments can be used, too, if we choose.

My ONE stamp this year is a beautiful floral (a very large one) from the Altenew Pristine Peonies stamp set.

I blended three colors of ink randomly onto a piece of white CS and then stamped the image on it. I used the  coordinating die to cut out the image.

I hope you'll keep an eye out on the 3rd of each month to see how I do with this ONE stamp this year. You'll also be able to see Barb's and Kelly's cards on Instagram as well as their blogs...

SCS Sketch #SC1030

I find that having a sketch to use can get my creative ideas flowing, so I love being part of the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge team. There is a new sketch to work with every Wednesday. I encourage you to check them out.

Here's this week's sketch - SC1030:

My card:

It's always acceptable to tweak the sketch a wee bit and make it your own (there are no SCS police). Sheesh! I even was the one who created this sketch, and I tweaked it when I made my card.

I hope you'll use the sketch to make a card, too.

Catch Up Club - September 2024

In a text conversation amongst friends in the fall of 2022, we agreed that we were all falling behind in creating with items from virtual events, kits, even groups we are in. From that conversation the idea of the Catch Up Club took formation. We decided it was time to work on those cardmaking projects that were waiting for our attention.

On the last day of each month (I'm a day early this month as I have another commitment on my blog tomorrow) we've committed to sharing card/cards we have made from something we need to "catch up" on.

You can view my original Catch Up Club post - HERE - for more details.

For this month's Catch Up Club post, I chose to complete a card from the 2023 Taylored Expressions Virtual Stamp Joy (Session 7). FYI, this is my final card from the 2023 Stamp Joy event. Next month I'll move on to another event.

It should be noted that while most cards posted on my blog are my own designs (albeit sometimes inspired by others), these Catch Up Club cards are not my designs. I've completed cards designed by the class instructor, so while I've made the card, it is not original to me.

Please check out the blogs of my Catch Up Club friends, too...

CYS Autumn Embossing

One of my favorite challenge groups is the Challenge Your Stash group on SCS, under the capable and organized leadership of my friend Barb. The idea is we can't shop for anything when making our monthly challenge card (which we post on the 28th of each month).

We take turns choosing the theme. This month it was Sue's turn. She challenged us to make an Autumn card with embossing as the focal feature. I actually made two cards.

I hope Sue, Barb and the other Challenge Your Stash gals like my card.

BK - Stormy Skies DP Week 4

Fridays are special days - who doesn't love TGIF, right? But here on my blog Fridays are also special because they are the day I get to post as a design team member for Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.

This month the design team is doing things a little bit differently. Normally we all showcase a newly released stamp set, each of us posting on different days of the week. However this month we're going to be featuring a newly released paper pack - ALL month long. We each chose our own BKRS stamps to use along with the gorgeous pieces of designer  paper from the Stormy Skies designer paper.
