Here's this week's sketch - SC995:

It's always acceptable to tweak the sketch a wee bit and make it your own (there are no SCS police), so that's what I did.

I hope you'll use the sketch to make a card, too.

Catch Up Club - January 2024

In a text conversation amongst friends in the fall of 2022, we agreed that we were all falling behind in creating with items from virtual events, kits, even groups we are in. From that conversation the idea of the Catch Up Club took formation. We decided it was time to work on those cardmaking projects that were waiting for our attention.

On the last day of each month (I'm a day early this month) we've committed to sharing card/cards we have made from something we need to "catch up" on.

You can view my original Catch Up Club post - HERE - for more details.

For this month's Catch Up Club post, I chose to do something a little different. I purchased the Spellbinders 2023 Crafty Advent Calendar with the intentions of making something crafty each day with that day's special item. Then life happened. I just couldn't keep up with everything so while I opened the little window to reveal an item each day, I didn't use those items.

Today's Catch Up card features items from four of the days:

Day 2 - Stamp set

Day 16 - Hello Die set

Day 17 - Tag Die set

Day 18 - Sequins

Please check out the blogs of my Catch Up Club friends, too...

Masculine Winter Birthday Card

One of my favorite challenge groups is the Challenge Your Stash group on SCS, under the capable and organized leadership of my friend Barb. The idea is we can't shop for anything when making our monthly challenge card (which we post on the 28th of each month).

We take turns choosing the theme. This month it was Anne's turn. She challenged us to make a winter birthday card for a man. (That was way out of my comfort zone. I hope I did okay.)

I hope Anne, Barb and the other Challenge Your Stash gals like my card.

From a Kit Series (PP) - January 2024

I started a new series on my blog in July of 2021. The idea was born from the fact that I have a lot of unused card/stamping kits just waiting to have some attention. Sheesh! Seems as though I buy them and they just sit. That just shouldn't be so I'm going to commit to using a kit once a month for this "From a Kit" series.

As I mentioned in my May 2023 blog posts, the only "kits" I have left (after completing the first 21) are SEVERAL Stampin' UP! Paper Pumpkin kits. I also mentioned that I've discovered I'm not really very fond of the card designs found in the Paper Pumpkin kits... so I decided IF I'm going to use those Paper Pumpkin kits that I've invested in, I'll need to veer away from the designs as they appear in the kits.

This month I made 2 cards using the August 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit - Hope Box.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

In addition to the Paper Pumpkin kit I used the following items...

CS - Accent Opaque 120# White and SU Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo CS

Dies - Honey Bee Sweet Stack Rectangles and Waffle Flower A2 Lacy Layers

Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black

Create It 3 Ways - January 2024

I participated in the Create It 3 Ways Instagram Hop this past Saturday. It is a monthly hop (on the 3rd Saturday of every month) and each month there is a new theme. The idea is to make 3 cards based on the theme, hence the name Create It 3 Ways. There needs to be some commonality between all three cards, but the participants can decide what that common thing is.

This month's theme is Love.

The common feature for my three cards is I used 3 different stamp sets, but they were all from CC Designs. I also used the same papers, the same dies, and the same embellishments on all 3 cards.

CC Designs String of Hearts

CC Designs Heart Swissie

CC Designs Valentine Henry
