A Simple Thank You

Today I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. I have been reflecting on this stamping/cardmaking hobby that I love. I find it difficult to remember how what life was like before online friends, card swaps. blog groups and design teams. LOL!

So, I stepped back in time. I first got into stamping because I had a friend who sent me such lovely handmade cards and she told me about Stampin' UP! So I found a demo near me and contacted her. The demo, Carol, was very kind and helpful, teaching me some basics and getting me started in my quest to own many toys. EEK!

In honor of those early days, I actually CASE'd a card that we made at one of those card clubs at Carol's house. I tweaked it a bit to make it my own, but it's very simple, like the cards I made when I first began.

Here it is:

The colors are Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, and Mellow Moss.

Here's the inside of my card:

I feel like I've come a long way in my card-making since those early days, but I'm also very thankful for the fun I've had along the way and the many women who have inspired me to learn more and more about this hobby I love.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!

  5. How fun!! I have a little box of my first cards - some make me laugh, some make me cringe. But it's fun to remember, right? Love this card, the colors are so restful and soft. The clean and simple style is refreshing from time to time. Thanks for sharing with us! You are one friend that has taught me a lot about card making!
